Kids build real web pages. Their robot tutor gives hints, never answers.

Kioder is a coding playground for ages 10–14. Your child edits real HTML, CSS and JavaScript, sees the result instantly, and asks Byte when they get stuck. Byte gives hints, never answers, so your child does the thinking.

No account, no email. Your child just types a first name.

Try it: change the color
Golden cheese. Classic!

How a session works

Each exercise is a small project: a pizza, a rocket, a house, a game. Your child follows a short challenge, one step at a time.

  1. Pick a project

Choose from 50+ themes, from pizza to space missions, grouped in 10 levels.

  2. Read the challenge

A short goal in plain English, like "make the cheese pink".

  3. Edit the code

Real HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The preview updates as they type.

  4. Ask Byte if stuck

Byte gives a hint that matches the problem, not the solution.

  5. Finish and move on

Each step is checked automatically. Then they can pick another project.

A tutor that holds back on purpose

Most helpers hand over the answer. Byte, the robot tutor, is built to do the opposite. It starts with a question, moves to a concrete pointer if needed, and gives a short generic example only as a last resort. It never writes the finished solution for the child.

  1. 1A question that makes you think
  2. 2A pointer to the right idea
  3. 3A short example, then you type it

What parents should know

We built Kioder to be simple to trust.

  • No account. Your child types a first name. We don't ask for an email, a surname or a password.
  • Real code, not a toy. They write the same HTML, CSS and JavaScript used on real websites.
  • No ads, no chat with strangers. The only conversation is with Byte, and it is about the exercise.
  • Byte stays on topic. It is instructed to talk about the code in front of the child and to keep replies short and kind.
  • Plain-language privacy. See exactly what we collect, and what we don't, on the privacy page.

Questions parents ask

What age is Kioder for?

It is designed for children aged 10 to 14. No coding experience is needed. Level 1 starts with changing colors.

Does my child need to know how to code?

No. The first projects only ask them to change a color or a word. Byte explains ideas in simple language when asked.

Will Byte just give the answer?

No. Byte gives up to three levels of hints, from a guiding question to a short generic example. It is instructed never to give the full solution, and your child always types the change themselves.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Your child enters a first name on the start screen. The name is remembered in the browser on that device, nowhere else.

Is my child's data safe?

We collect as little as possible. We do not ask for emails or surnames. The privacy page explains what is stored and who processes it.

What do we need to use it?

A computer or tablet with a modern browser and an internet connection. A keyboard makes typing code much easier.

Is Byte available in other languages?

Right now Kioder is in English only.
